The Tampa Bay Bandits have finally jumped on the off-season moves bandwagon and have made some free agent moves. Here's a quick breakdown of the newest Bandits. Let's Ride!!!
Bandits signed two WRs, the first is Ryan McDaniel who played college ball mostly at North Carolina Central University after transferring from the University of Tulsa. His senior year was electrifying as he led the MEAC with 52 receptions for 678 yds and 4 TDs. He went undrafted in the 22 NFL draft but was signed by the Jacksonville Jaguars briefly in May before being released. He is 6'2 204 lbs and ran a 4.55 40 at his pro day. Hopefully he can be one of the pieces that help this Bandits team get a more consistent offensive performance week in and week out.
The second WR signed is D.J Myers who played college ball at Midwestern State university in Texas after transferring from Lackawanna College in Scranton, PA. He is also the older brother of current Bandits QB, Guy Myers so we might see a cool brother to brother TD moment this season. From 16-17 at Midwestern State he amassed 46 receptions for 699 yds and 7 TDs, good enough for second on the team and All-Lone Star conference honorable mention. He most recently played football in the arena league where he earned their version of "All-Star" or "Pro Bowl" player in 2021 after bringing in 17 TDs(wow). Now he brings his 6'3 205 frame to the Bandits to help provide a boost to the passing game.
Bandits bring in an OLB with a name that was made for the position in L.B. Mack III from the University of Rhode Island. He played from 16-21 all with Rhode Island where he ended his career with the 2nd most TFL(39) I'm program history as well as 4th in sacks with 21. Dealt with injury but came back in a big way for his redshirt senior year getting 51 TKLs, 11 TFL, and 8.5 sacks along with a forced fumble and fumble recovery. He most recently played in the CFL with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. I am very excited about this guy, he looks like an absolute DAWG and can't wait to see him flying around for that Tampa defense.
