Texas Syndicate Joins Continental Football League with Bold Vision for Central Texas

The Continental Football League (CoFL) is returning, and Central Texas is set to be a cornerstone of its relaunch with the introduction of the Texas Syndicate. In an exclusive interview with United Football Media, Quincy Workman, CEO and owner of the Texas Syndicate, shared his vision for the team and its role in the community, emphasizing a commitment to football, community engagement, and player development.

Workman, a 23-year US Army veteran with extensive experience in leadership and biomedical operations, is no stranger to taking on challenges. Inspired by his military background and personal experiences, including navigating the ups and downs of football with his son, Workman saw an opportunity to make a difference. “I saw a need,” he said. “If someone else can do it, why can’t I?” This drive led him to spearhead the Texas Syndicate as part of the CoFL’s 2026 summer launch.

A Community-Driven Vision

The Texas Syndicate is more than just a football team—it’s a movement rooted in community involvement. Workman emphasized that the team’s mission aligns closely with the CoFL’s goal of fostering regional pride and engagement. “You can’t have a team or a league if you’re not in the community,” Workman stated. The Syndicate has already begun building connections across Central Texas, from volunteering at a women’s shelter in San Antonio to distributing school supplies and participating in community events like one scheduled in Pflugerville on October 4th.

Unlike other professional sports leagues, the CoFL and the Texas Syndicate aim to avoid major NFL and UFL markets, focusing instead on smaller communities to create a unique niche. The Syndicate will represent not just Austin but the broader Central Texas region, including San Marcus, Pflugerville, and the greater San Antonio area. This is, of course, assuming San Antonio doesn’t end up with a CoFL team of its own in the near future. Workman’s team is organizing player tryouts across these areas to build a roster reflecting the region’s rich football talent.

Building a Team with Purpose

The Texas Syndicate is already making waves with the announcement of quarterback Jeremy Hunt as a cornerstone player. Hunt, a former standout at the University of Louisiana-Monroe and with the Corpus Christi Tridents, brings experience and leadership to the team. Workman also revealed that Ned Harrington will be the team’s general manager. Harrington, with a background in the Arena League and scouting, is described as “hungry” and focused, ensuring the team stays grounded and strategic in its approach.

The Syndicate’s commitment extends beyond the field. Workman is prioritizing player development, both professionally and personally. The team plans to provide financial literacy courses for players and staff, partnering with nonprofits to teach skills for long-term success. Additionally, the Texas Syndicate Foundation will launch in January 2026 and will focus on mental health support for athletes, addressing a critical need in professional sports. “We’re here to help our players succeed, during and after football,” Workman said.

A League Built for Longevity

The CoFL’s relaunch strategy includes a regional focus to foster rivalries and reduce travel costs, ensuring sustainability. Workman noted that the league will divide teams into Northern and Southern regions, with matchups limited to regional opponents until the playoffs. This approach not only builds local fan bases but also makes road trips feasible for supporters. For Central Texas fans, this could mean a short drive to cheer on the Syndicate against a rival within a two- to three-hour radius.

The Texas Syndicate’s color scheme—navy, burnt orange, gunmetal gray, silver, and white—hints at a more profound significance tied to the region’s identity. More details will be revealed on social media. Fans can also participate in a jersey giveaway by engaging with the team’s social media before September 30th.

A Bright Future for Central Texas Football

With a slogan of “Unite the Hustle,” the Texas Syndicate is poised to become a rallying point for Central Texas football fans. Workman’s vision is clear: create a team representing the community, supporting its players, and building lasting connections. As the CoFL prepares for its eight-team launch in the summer of 2026, the Syndicate aims to lead the Southern Division and establish itself as a powerhouse.
