Top Five Brahmas Players of All Time

San Antonio Snap Count

The 2025 fall season has concluded with the DC Defenders winning their first spring football championship over the Michigan Panthers, 58 to 34. The championship game was a testament to the league's success, and it’s exciting to look forward to future UFL seasons! Further proof of the league's achievements is the many players who have already signed with NFL teams. For instance, San Antonio Brahmas running back Jashaun Corbin, who led the league in rushing this year, has signed with the Atlanta Falcons.

We are sure to see more Brahmas players signed in the coming months. While pondering which of them would be next, I asked myself who my top five players are that have ever stepped on the field in a Brahmas uniform.

Before diving into the rankings, I’d like to explain the criteria used to compile this list. The first metric I examined was longevity. Only four players have been with the team since its inception in 2023: Derek Kelly II, who has played both Guard and Tackle; Tight End Alize Mack; Linebacker Jordan Williams; and Punter Brad Wing. I then considered the team's all-time statistics and records, balancing both factors to create this top-five list.

Since this is an all-time ranking, I did not heavily weigh single-season stats. For example, Corbin led the league in rushing this year and signed with the Atlanta Falcons, but did not make the list. Stats accumulated with other teams were also excluded. The focus was solely on what each player accomplished while wearing a Brahmas uniform.

Starting with #5, we have linebacker and edge rusher Delontae Scott. Scott played for the Brahmas in 2023 and 2024, and while he spent the 2025 season with the Birmingham Stallions, his impact as a Brahmas player remains undeniable. Despite playing over 100 snaps for the Stallions this year, that performance is excluded from the metrics shared here.

During his two seasons with the Brahmas, Scott participated in 651 defensive snaps, achieving a PFF rating of 90.7 in 2023 and 89.9 in 2024. The key stat that secures his inclusion on this list is the 13 sacks he recorded across those two years, making him the all-time leader in sacks for the Brahmas. His ability to disrupt plays is further demonstrated by 33 hurries and 53 pressures on opposing quarterbacks, solidifying him as the most effective pass rusher in the team’s history.

Now shifting to the offensive side, #4 on the list is Anthony McFarland. McFarland is a dynamic player who can turn any play into a touchdown, with stats to back up his explosive performance. He averages 5.6 yards per rushing attempt and has achieved 16 rushes of over 10 yards. According to PFF’s D15 metric, which tracks designed rushing attempts of more than 15 yards, McFarland has delivered such runs 12 times in his career. He is the all-time leader in rushing yards for the team, with a total of 588 yards, complemented by 288 receiving yards and three receiving touchdowns. Injuries in both the 2024 and 2025 seasons limited his overall output, but he remains one of the most thrilling players to watch in the UFL.

Coming in at #3 is Brad Wing—a pick for the special teams enthusiasts. Wing has been with the team for all three years of its existence and has ranked as one of the top players in the league each season. With a career average of 47.2 yards per punt and a longest punt of 72 yards, Wing has pinned 47 punts inside the 20-yard line during his UFL career. Impressively, out of 126 attempts, none of his punts have been blocked. Wing’s consistency and longevity make him a clear choice for the #3 spot in Brahmas history.

At #2, we have Tight End Alize Mack, fondly nicknamed the Mack Truck. While Cody Latimer arguably had the best single season for a Brahmas tight end in 2024, Mack’s three years of consistent performance earn him this spot. As the all-time leader in touchdown receptions, Mack has achieved four receiving touchdowns over three seasons. He’s played 861 snaps as a tight end—a position that often serves as a sixth offensive lineman—and has allowed only two sacks during his tenure, with a PFF blocking efficiency of 91.9. Mack’s contributions as both a blocker and a receiver make him an integral part of Brahmas history.

Before revealing the top spot, I’d like to share some honorable mentions. It was tough to leave out running back John Lovett, who leads the team in all-time rushing touchdowns and trails McFarland by only 50 yards in all-time rushing stats. Linebacker Devante Beckett also deserves recognition for ranking second in career tackles, with 107 total tackles, four sacks, and a 91% tackling rate. Beckett has played over 1,000 snaps in his two seasons with the Brahmas, showcasing remarkable durability. Fan favorites like Caeveon Patton, Jontre Kirkland, and Alex Mollett also deserve a shoutout. Mollett is best known for his incredible receiving touchdown on a fake punt from Brad Wing in 2024—a play that would undoubtedly be ranked #1 if this were a list of the best moments in Brahmas history.

Finally, at #1 is Jordan Williams—the best overall player in the Brahmas’ short history. Williams has been with the team for all three seasons and leads the Brahmas in career tackles with 159, playing 1,665 snaps at linebacker. With an 86% tackling percentage and a pivotal pick-six against the Michigan Panthers this past year, Williams stands out as the team’s leader in defensive stops—a metric tracked by PFF that credits players for forcing offensive failures. Williams has done this an impressive 86 times, leaving no doubt that he is the most effective defensive player for a team that ranked first in every major defensive category in 2024.

Join me in congratulating all five players for their outstanding careers with the Brahmas over the past three years. We wish them the best as they continue pursuing their dreams of playing professional football—the sport we all love.
